Rider Waite Tarot Pack

When the artistic talents of Pamela Coleman-Smith brought A E Waite's concept for a new tarot deck to life they made tarot history.  Up until then the minor arcana was simmilar to a pack of playing cards, with "pips" and "face cards" making up each suit.  This was the first deck to have both the major and minor arcanas fully illustrated.  No mean feat for Ms Coleman-Smith when you consider that she had to produce 78 works of art, each laden with very specific  meaning and imagery.
 
The Rider Waite, or now that Pamela Coleman-Smith is given the credit she deserved, Smith Waite deck is a good deck for beginners and more accomplished readers alike.
